Alabama OC Ryan Grubb apologizes for remarks about booing fans

Ryan Grubb walked back comments he made about Crimson Tide fans booing during Alabama's comeback win over Florida State.

Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb issued an apology Monday night for comments he made earlier in the day about fans booing during the Crimson Tide's 50-36 win over Florida State. Grubb had referenced the booing while praising his players' resilience in the Week 3 victory.

Speaking to reporters Monday morning, Grubb said the team showed no quit after falling behind 21-6 in the first half. He added that if the players had given up as quickly as some fans did, Alabama would not have won the game.

Grubb later clarified his remarks in a statement posted through Alabama's NIL collective. He said his passion for his players affected his choice of words and apologized to anyone he offended, calling the Crimson Tide fanbase a source of inspiration for the team.

Alabama scored 20 unanswered points to close the first half after Florida State built its 15-point lead. Quarterback Keelon Russell completed 23 of 30 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns and added a 57-yard rushing score.

The Tide rushed for 247 yards on 36 carries in the win. After averaging 104 rushing yards per game in 2025, Alabama has more than doubled that figure so far this season.
