Alisson credits Jacquet and Araujo for tightening Liverpool's defense

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker praised summer signings Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo for strengthening the team's defense, speaking after a 1-0 Premier League win at Bournemouth that kept the club unbeaten heading into the international break.

Jacquet, 21, was named man of the match at Bournemouth as he continued a strong start to life in English football. Araujo, who joined on a season-long loan from Barcelona, has impressed while filling in at right-back.

"Jeremy, so much quality of course, but I don't think it's the hardest job in the world to play alongside Virgil van Dijk!" Alisson told the club's website. He added that Araujo was brought in to make Liverpool more solid defensively and that the squad is "really happy" to have both players.

Alisson also played a key role in the clean sheet, making a reflex stop to deny Evanilson's first-half flick and keep the score goalless. He said staying ready for the full 90 minutes is part of his job at a big club, even when there is little to do.

The Brazilian noted the performance was not flawless and that Liverpool must improve on the ball, but said the team adapted after halftime and fought to take all three points.
