Andy Reid says Taylor Swift helps keep Travis Kelce driven

The Chiefs coach praised Kelce's offseason work ethic and joked that his pop-star wife sets her own example of hard work.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said tight end Travis Kelce put in serious offseason work, and he suggested Kelce's new wife, Taylor Swift, plays a part in keeping him motivated.

Speaking on Sports Radio 810 WHB, Reid noted that some wondered whether Kelce might return out of shape after his wedding and honeymoon. Instead, the coach said Kelce "works his rear end off" and takes pride in contributing alongside his teammates.

Reid also pointed to Swift's own demanding schedule, saying that performing four-hour concerts requires the same kind of dedication. "I'm sure she kicks him in the butt a little bit there, too," he said.

Kelce has 172 yards through the Chiefs' first two games of the 2026/27 NFL season, both wins. He set the NFL record for most yards after the catch in Kansas City's most recent outing, a 33-30 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
