India, Sri Lanka Set for Women's Cricket Final Rematch at Asian Games

Cricket's medal picture at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, is beginning to take shape. The women's final is set between India and Sri Lanka at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, a rematch of the 2023 Hangzhou title match that India won. Bangladesh and Pakistan will contest the women's bronze-medal playoff.

The men's tournament has not yet started. India enters the Games as the defending champion in both the men's and women's events after sweeping both gold medals at Hangzhou in 2023.

Cricket first appeared at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2010, returned at Incheon in 2014, was absent in 2018, and came back at Hangzhou in 2023. Twenty20 is the format used in both competitions.

Historically, Pakistan and Bangladesh are the most decorated nations in Asian Games cricket across both tournaments. Pakistan's women won gold in 2010 and 2014, while Bangladesh's men took the inaugural 2010 title. Afghanistan has finished as the men's silver medalist in all three prior editions.
