Barcelona track Brazil newcomer Arthur Dias, report says

Barcelona's scouting chief watched Athletico Paranaense defender Arthur Dias days after his first senior Brazil call-up under Carlo Ancelotti, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona have sent scouts to monitor Arthur Dias, a 19-year-old defender at Brazilian club Athletico Paranaense, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo citing UmDois Deportes.

The teenager mainly plays as a center-back but can also fill in at left-back, and he has become a regular starter for Athletico Paranaense despite his age. His club form recently earned him a first call-up to Brazil's senior squad under head coach Carlo Ancelotti, with a debut expected in the team's upcoming friendlies.

Per the report, Barcelona's head of scouting, Joao Amaral, attended Athletico Paranaense's match against Bahia to watch Dias in person. Athletico Paranaense are said to place a value of around €30 million on the young defender.
