Boom Ball tour adds Knoxville stop at Covenant Health Park in 2027

The traveling co-ed baseball show will bring its six-inning, multi-format games to Knoxville on May 1, 2027.

A traveling baseball entertainment product called Boom Ball will appear at Covenant Health Park in Knoxville on May 1, 2027, the venue's operator announced. Pregame activities around the downtown ballpark are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., with the contest between the Luck Llamas and the Chaos Crew starting at 7 p.m.

The roster mixes athletes from varied backgrounds, including former minor league baseball players and people who have competed on American Ninja Warrior. Jeremy Boler, executive vice president of Boyd Sports, said the event fits the venue's push to add more special occasions and encouraged fans to buy tickets early.

Games run six innings, and each inning uses its own set of rules. The first and fourth innings are played as Speedball, with a pitcher, a running clock and no balls or strikes. The second and fifth innings are Fanball, in which anything in foul territory stays live and play can move into the seating areas. Softball pitchers handle the third inning, and the sixth is a Dueling Derby, with batters from both teams swinging at the same time.

According to the tour's website, attendees can expect trick plays, a light show, fireworks and additional entertainment in the stands and on the field. Each contest is designed to finish within two hours.

Covenant Health Park, a multiuse facility that opened in 2025, has widened its schedule beyond Knoxville Smokies baseball and One Knox soccer. The venue set an attendance record for a Savannah Bananas appearance in May and has also held festivals and events such as Nitro Circus 2.0.
