Borussia Mönchengladbach have named Alexander Blessin as their next head coach. The German club announced that the 53-year-old has agreed to a contract that runs through 2028.
Blessin steps in for Eugen Polanski, who was dismissed from the role earlier this month. He arrives from FC St. Pauli, where he departed after the club dropped out of the Bundesliga at the end of last season.
The new coach will be presented to the media at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon at Borussia-Park. Sporting director Rouven Schröder is expected to appear alongside him.
Before his time at St. Pauli, Blessin led Genoa, Union Saint-Gilloise and KV Oostende, and he also spent time on the youth coaching staff at RB Leipzig.
