The New York Giants absorbed more injury blows in Monday night's 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Linebacker Brian Burns was helped off the field with a left ankle issue late in the game, while left tackle Andrew Thomas exited with a groin injury.
Coach John Harbaugh said after the game that Burns sustained a low ankle sprain. ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported that Burns was wearing a boot and was taken by golf cart to the team bus. Burns was able to walk off the field on his own, and he was later seen on the bench with a wrap on the ankle.
Thomas has battled injuries throughout his career but had stayed healthy through the spring and summer. Burns, meanwhile, is coming off the best season of his career.
The Giants also had a brief scare when wide receiver Malik Nabers had his shoulder examined in the second quarter, though he was able to return to the game. Further updates on the injured players are expected as the week progresses.
