Undav Disappointed by Omission From Germany's Nations League Squad

Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav says he must prove himself again after being left out of Jürgen Klopp's 44-player squad for upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.

Stuttgart forward Deniz Undav said he was disappointed to be left out of Germany's squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. The 30-year-old spoke to Sky Germany after his side's 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Undav said he believed his performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup had earned him some standing with the national team. He scored three goals and added two assists at the tournament but has not scored for Stuttgart so far this season.

"I have to prove myself again, give everything again, and show another coach once more that I belong," he said.

Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp named an expanded squad of 44 players, favoring younger and newer faces. Undav's absence drew a strong reaction from German supporters online, many of whom felt he deserved a place.
