A position-by-position look at the most notable players to add off waivers heading into Week 3 of the fantasy football season.
With the second week of the NFL season complete, fantasy managers are turning their attention to Week 3 additions. Yahoo Sports highlighted four players at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end as the top waiver wire targets at their respective positions.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough earns the nod after a road victory over the Baltimore Ravens in which he passed for 252 yards and a touchdown without an interception. He added 23 rushing yards on nine carries, including a score on the ground. Home dates with the Las Vegas Raiders and Atlanta Falcons follow, and weapons such as Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, Juwan Johnson and eventually Jordyn Tyson give him appeal beyond the short term.
Denver Broncos running back Jonah Coleman took on a larger role after JK Dobbins left with a hamstring injury and RJ Harvey was sidelined by his own hamstring issue before kickoff. Coleman handled a position-leading 40% of the snaps, ran 10 times for 39 yards and a touchdown, and secured all three targets for 19 yards. If Dobbins remains out, Coleman is expected to keep the lead job even once Harvey returns.
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Denzel Boston has found the end zone in each of his first two games, following a 2-catch, 59-yard Week 1 with five receptions for 95 yards in Week 2. Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden II becomes an interesting add after the team placed David Njoku and Charlie Kolar on injured reserve, keeping both sidelined for a minimum of four contests.
