The Atlanta Dream beat the New York Liberty 95-84 on Monday, improving to 29-14 with the 2026 WNBA regular season nearing its end. The win kept alive Atlanta's chance to climb above Las Vegas and claim the three-seed, provided the Aces lose their remaining games and the Dream win their finale, which also comes against the Liberty.
Rhyne Howard provided a historic note in the victory. Her two three-pointers against New York brought her to 500 for her career, making her both the youngest player to reach the mark, at 26 years and 146 days, and the fastest, doing it in 178 career games, according to the WNBA's official account on X.
Howard, the first overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft, is Atlanta's second-leading scorer behind Allisha Gray. For her career she has averaged 8.8 three-point attempts and 2.8 makes per game, and this season she has hit a career-best 36.0% from deep while making over three triples per contest.
The Dream are seeking the first WNBA championship in the franchise's 19-year history after a 30-14 finish in 2025.
