Fantasy Baseball's Biggest League Winners in 2026

Jordan Walker, Pete Crow-Armstrong and a waiver-wire-heavy group carried fantasy baseball managers to titles this season.

A Yahoo Sports review of the season identified ten players who delivered championship-level value in fantasy baseball, using roster rates among the platform's top-500 teams as the measuring stick. Only two of them, Sal Stewart and Pete Crow-Armstrong, were picked in more than 10 percent of drafts, a sign that the most profitable additions usually come from the waiver wire rather than draft day.

Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker stands above the rest, appearing on more top-500 rosters than anyone else in head-to-head leagues. Drafted in just six percent of leagues, the 24-year-old climbed to ninth on the Yahoo Player Rater, pairing 20 stolen bases with elite bat speed that placed him among the top 15 percent of hitters in average exit velocity, barrel rate and hard-hit rate.

The pitching side featured several late bargains. Tampa Bay's Bryan Baker seized the closer job early and never let go, while Toronto's Louis Varland converted 34 saves, tied for fifth in the majors. Cleveland's Parker Messick cracked the top 10 in ERA and WHIP, and Milwaukee's Logan Henderson posted a 0.81 WHIP despite a back injury limiting him to fewer than 20 starts.

Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong is the lone player who was widely wanted in March, going in the fourth round of typical Yahoo drafts. After a season that could end up at 40 home runs and 40 steals, he projects to be the first overall pick next year. Reds rookie Sal Stewart, who hit nine homers with 29 RBI and seven steals by the end of April, also earned a second-round grade for 2027, as did Walker.

Colorado's Jake McCarthy thrived at Coors Field with a .318 home average and reached 30 steals, while White Sox slugger Miguel Vargas contributed steadily across all four counting-stat categories rather than dominating any single one.
