Juventus eye Neto after Grabara suffers season-ending knee injury

With their loan goalkeeper out long term and the transfer window shut, Juventus are weighing a move for free agent Norberto Neto, per Football Italia.

Juventus have been dealt a setback after goalkeeper Kamil Grabara went down with a serious knee problem that will sideline him for the remainder of his loan from Wolfsburg. The Polish shot-stopper had only just made his first appearance for the club, facing NEC in the Europa League last week.

Grabara turned heads in that debut, picking up an assist and drawing wide praise for his showing. He had been pushing for a bigger role with the Bianconeri before the injury cut his season short, leaving a hole in the squad.

With the transfer market closed, Juventus cannot buy a replacement in the usual way and must look at players without a club. According to Football Italia, Neto is among the free agents being offered to the Turin side, and the club are giving him serious thought.

The Brazilian keeper is a familiar face in Turin, having served as Juventus' backup from 2015 to 2017. He later filled the same role at Barcelona and Arsenal, giving him extensive experience as a second-choice goalkeeper.

Juventus now face a decision on whether to bring Neto back as cover for the injured Grabara in the coming days.
