Nabers to undergo X-rays after dislocating shoulder in Giants' loss

The wide receiver briefly left Monday night's loss to the Rams but returned after popping his shoulder back into place.

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is scheduled for X-rays on Tuesday after his shoulder popped out of place during Monday night's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

The injury happened when Nabers attempted a contested catch against Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie. He was initially listed as questionable to return, but he said after the game that he popped the shoulder back in and rejoined the offense, missing only a short stretch of plays.

Nabers, 23, was playing in his second game back from a torn ACL. He said he returned in part because quarterback Jaxson Dart had left the game, and he did not want to leave the team further shorthanded. Backup Jameis Winston played the rest of the way under center.

Nabers did not catch any of his three targets over the final three quarters. He declined to use the injuries as an excuse for his performance, saying he was still working his way back on the knee.
