Sri Lanka's threat is anchored by captain Chamari Athapaththu, who has scored 146 runs across two matches, including two half-centuries. The 36-year-old is looking to bounce back after a group-stage exit at the T20 World Cup and a runners-up finish at the Asia Cup, where India beat Sri Lanka in the final less than two weeks before this meeting.

India opener Shafali Verma said the team has specific plans for Athapaththu but will focus on executing its own game. "Chamari is in good form. We know that she is one of their best players, so we have plans for her," Verma said.

Rain is forecast for the final, and weather could play a decisive role. If the match is abandoned, India, as the top seeds, would be declared winners and awarded the gold medal.
