Pollock commits future to Northampton Saints on new multi-year deal

The 21-year-old England back-row has ended uncertainty over his future by extending his stay with the reigning Premiership champions.

England back-row Henry Pollock has agreed a multi-year extension with Northampton Saints, putting an end to months of uncertainty about where he would play beyond this season. The 21-year-old, capped 13 times by his country, was entering the final year of his previous deal.

The new contract is reported to be worth approximately £450,000 per year, a significant increase from his prior terms of £150,000. Pollock's representative, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, had publicly pushed for improved pay and described the forward as a "seven-figure player," though Hearn played no part in the actual negotiations with the club.

Pollock came through at Northampton, debuting as a 17-year-old schoolboy in 2022, and called it his boyhood club in announcing the deal. He had previously said he was open to all options and suggested he might one day play overseas, but has now set his sights on defending the Premiership title and challenging for the Champions Cup.

Director of rugby Phil Dowson welcomed the news, noting Pollock's rapid rise and his character while adding that the player still has plenty of room to develop. Pollock follows fellow England internationals Tommy Freeman, Fin Smith and Alex Mitchell in signing multi-year extensions with the Saints over the past year.
