The Austin American-Statesman released its Central Texas high school football rankings following Week 4, and the top of Class 6A is unchanged. Lake Travis (1-1-1) sits at No. 1 despite a 48-35 loss to San Antonio Cornerstone Christian, with Westlake (2-1) right behind after a bye week.
Round Rock moved up from fifth to third after a 41-38 shootout win over Vandegrift. Cedar Park stayed fourth and improved to 4-0 with a 51-0 rout of New Braunfels. Vandegrift slipped from third to fifth at 2-2.
In Class 5A, Weiss (3-1) remains No. 1 after a District 12-5A Division I victory over College Station, while No. 2 Anderson moved to 3-0 with a 49-7 win against Lockhart to open district play. Legacy Ranch entered the poll at No. 4 following a win over Pflugerville, and Lockhart dropped out.
Class 4A is led by undefeated Wimberley (3-0), which beat Lampasas 35-14. Taylor (3-0), Regents (3-1), Thorndale (4-0) and St. Michael's (4-1) round out the top five, with Thorndale winning a battle of unbeatens against Mildred, 49-42.
District play is underway for most area programs. Notable upcoming matchups include Anderson traveling to Boerne Champion in District 13-5A Division I, and Lake Travis opening 6A district action against McNeil.
