India and Sri Lanka will contest the women's cricket gold medal match at the 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan. It is the second straight Asian Games final between the two sides, after India won the 2023 decider in Hangzhou.
India reached the final with an eight-wicket quarter-final win over host Japan, followed by a 114-run semi-final victory against Bangladesh. Sri Lanka advanced by beating Malaysia by 86 runs in the quarter-finals and Pakistan by eight wickets in the semi-finals.
It is the second continental final between the teams this month. India won the Asia Cup final in Dubai by 72 runs, with fifties from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma.
Shafali enters the final in strong form, with Mandhana, Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma also key performers for India. Sri Lanka's hopes rest heavily on captain Chamari Athapaththu, who has 146 runs in two innings plus three wickets in the tournament.
The toss was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Indian time. Pre-match models listed India with a 75 percent win probability to Sri Lanka's 25 percent.
