India Host West Indies for Three-Match ODI Series Beginning September 27

The tour opens in Thiruvananthapuram with a depleted India squad facing Shai Hope's West Indies across three day games.

India will welcome the West Indies for a three-match one-day international series starting Sunday, September 27 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second ODI follows on September 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, with the series concluding October 3 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in New Chandigarh. All three games are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. IST starts.

The series is part of a broader eight-match white-ball tour, the West Indies' longest visit to India since 2023. It runs alongside India's Asian Games campaign in Japan, which has kept several white-ball regulars out of the squad, including Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar.

Shubman Gill will captain the hosts, with KL Rahul as vice-captain and wicketkeeper. Veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli headline the batting, which also features uncapped players seeking a first international appearance.

Shai Hope leads the West Indies, who have recalled John Campbell from injury and brought back Jewel Andrew in place of the recovering Ackeem Auguste. Head coach Daren Sammy is working to establish a settled core as the team builds toward future campaigns. India enter the series as the world's top-ranked ODI side, with the West Indies sitting eighth.
