Fever Host Lynx Tuesday Night With Top Seed at Stake

Minnesota can clinch the WNBA's No. 1 playoff seed with a win in Indianapolis, while Indiana's seeding remains open across a wide range.

The WNBA regular season closes with a two-game set between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx, starting Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, with streaming available on the ESPN App.

A single victory in either contest would give Minnesota the top seed in the playoffs and home-court advantage throughout. The Lynx arrive off a road win against Connecticut on Sunday, a game in which rookie Olivia Miles set the rookie scoring record. Miles is putting up 19.8 points and six assists per contest.

Indiana's postseason position is far less settled, with anywhere from the third seed to the eighth still possible. Winning both matchups would give the Fever a shot at home court in the first round, while a split would likely leave them at No. 6 or No. 7. Two losses could result in an eighth seed and a first-round rematch with the Lynx.

The Fever fell to Washington on Sunday despite a season in which Kelsey Mitchell broke the WNBA season scoring record. Mitchell enters the finale averaging 25.1 points per game.

These clubs have met once before this year, an Aug. 2 contest the Lynx took 108-100 behind 28 points from Miles. Mitchell countered with 37 for Indiana.
