Inter's Premier League Signings Make Little Early Impact

Inter built their summer recruitment around Premier League arrivals, but few of the new players have featured and results have been limited so far.

Inter made players from the Premier League the centerpiece of their summer transfer strategy as they looked to close the gap on Europe's top clubs. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the early results have been modest.

Curtis Jones, signed from Liverpool after a lengthy pursuit, has seen the most action among the newcomers with 152 minutes, including appearances against Real Madrid and Roma. His performances have not yet changed games for the Nerazzurri.

Djed Spence has yet to make an appearance. He arrived with a minor muscular injury and reduced fitness after missing pre-season with Tottenham. He is expected back after the international break, though Andy Diouf has performed well in the meantime.

John Stones has made a handful of appearances, mostly as a substitute, and picked up a thigh injury in his first start. He may be available for the Parma match in two weeks, though that is not certain. Inter's defense has struggled badly in the opening matches of the season.
