Isack Hadjar Back for Red Bull at Azerbaijan Grand Prix

The Red Bull driver returns from a wrist injury that sidelined him for three races, with Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda shifting back to their usual seats.

Isack Hadjar will return to the Red Bull Racing cockpit for this weekend's Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the team confirmed Monday. The driver had sat out the previous three rounds after hurting his wrist while training during the sport's August break.

The injury kept Hadjar out of the Dutch Grand Prix, the Italian Grand Prix and the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix at Madrid's new Madring circuit. Red Bull responded by moving Liam Lawson into Hadjar's seat alongside Max Verstappen, while Yuki Tsunoda stepped up from his reserve role to take Lawson's place at Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

Lawson made the most of the opportunity with points finishes in two of the three races, taking seventh in the Netherlands and sixth in Spain. Tsunoda added a point of his own with a tenth-place result at Monza.

In announcing Hadjar's comeback, Red Bull thanked Lawson for his professionalism, dedication and hard work across the three-race stretch. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix follows a shifted schedule, with qualifying set for Friday and the race on Saturday.
