Jason sports commentator Jason Whitlock sharply criticized rookie Travis Hunter following the Jacksonville Jaguars' 20-13 Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos in the 2026-27 NFL season.

Hunter, the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, appeared in just 37 snaps in the defeat, a situation the source described as a recurring issue for the young wide receiver. Whitlock directed part of his criticism at Deion Sanders, Hunter's college coach, accusing him of misrepresenting the player's abilities.

"Say it with me. Travis Hunter is a bust. He's a good kid. Deion sold him as a 2-way player and making history," Whitlock wrote on X. He added that Sanders should have promoted Hunter as a shutdown corner who might occasionally take offensive snaps instead.

According to the report, Hunter has shown promise at cornerback on defense but has had difficulty finding consistency on offense. At 23 years old, he retains time to develop into the two-way player Sanders envisioned, though Whitlock currently considers him a flop.
