Giants QB Jaxson Dart leaves Week 2 game with knee injury vs. Rams

Jaxson Dart exited Monday night's game against the Rams after an awkward hit on New York's opening drive and was listed as questionable to return with a knee injury.

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart left Monday night's Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams after taking an awkward hit on the game's opening drive. The contact came high and low on a third-down deep pass attempt toward tight end Theo Johnson, and Dart was seen grabbing at his thigh and knee area afterward.

Dart walked off the field with a noticeable limp, visited the medical tent, and was then shown heading to the locker room on the broadcast. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, he was ruled questionable to return with a knee injury, and the broadcast indicated he was not getting an X-ray. Jameis Winston took over at quarterback for New York.

The injury came on a drive that had been moving well before the missed third down forced a punt. Dart, a first-round pick in 2025 who took over as the Giants' starter in Week 4 of that season, had opened the 2026 campaign strong, completing 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns in a Week 1 win over Dallas.

His status beyond Monday night remains uncertain as the Giants continue to build their offense around the young quarterback.
