Oregon Loses WR Jeremiah McClellan to Broken Foot Suffered Before Week 3 Game

The Ducks' top receiver through two weeks fractured his left foot in pregame warmups and has no timetable for a return as Oregon visits USC.

Oregon wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan fractured his left foot while warming up before the Ducks' Week 3 contest against Portland State on Friday, Sept. 18, head coach Dan Lanning told reporters. The junior has no defined return date. Details of how the injury happened have not been disclosed, though McClellan was spotted on crutches wearing a walking boot during the game.

Lanning addressed the situation Monday, Sept. 21, calling it an unusual circumstance and noting that McClellan has been an important piece of the offense who will be again once he recovers.

Through the season's first two weeks, McClellan paced the 16th-ranked Ducks with seven receptions for 170 yards. He entered the year as Oregon's most productive returning pass-catcher after hauling in 38 passes for 557 yards and three scores as a sophomore in 2025.

The loss lands just before a road trip to face No. 12 USC in a Big Ten clash with potential College Football Playoff stakes. Quarterback Dante Moore still has options on the outside, including Evan Stewart, Dakorien Moore and freshman Messiah Hampton, who caught six passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns in the 84-0 rout of Portland State.
