The veteran broadcaster mixed up two routine words while describing a punt during CBS's Steelers-Patriots coverage on Sunday.
Veteran CBS announcer Jim Nantz had an awkward moment during Sunday's Pittsburgh Steelers-New England Patriots game, the broadcast he called alongside new partner J.J. Watt.
Late in the third quarter, Nantz blended the words kick and punt while describing a punt, producing an unintended vulgar term. He corrected himself immediately, saying the ball came to about the 10-yard line.
The slip came amid a rough day for the Steelers offense. Pittsburgh punter Pressley Harvin III punted eight times in the game, and Nantz said the word punt cleanly on seven of those occasions.
Nantz is adjusting to a new booth partner this season after Tony Romo was placed on indefinite leave by CBS following an OWI arrest.
