The Jaguars cornerback said Denver's play call on third down anticipated he would jump the route in the Broncos' 20-13 win.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle produced one of the most-shared plays of the week on Sunday, running a route that sent Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jourdan Lewis to the ground in a 20-13 Broncos victory.
The play came on third-and-3 from Denver's 27-yard line with the Broncos protecting a seven-point lead. Waddle went in motion and faked an outside break before turning up the field, and Lewis slipped to the turf as the receiver got behind him. Quarterback Bo Nix hit Waddle for a 29-yard gain.
Running back Jonah Coleman then moved the chains twice more to help Denver close out the win. The clip spread widely on social media, and the NFL's official Instagram account posted it on Monday.
Lewis responded in the comments on that post, writing that it was a good call on third-and-3 and that the Broncos knew he was going for the ball.
Waddle, in his first home game with the Broncos, finished with eight catches for 138 yards.
