Kentucky offense clicks in 31-21 road upset of Texas A&M

Kenny Minchey led an efficient Kentucky attack with 252 passing yards and two touchdowns as the Wildcats beat the Aggies in College Station.

Kentucky picked up a 31-21 road win over Texas A&M behind a strong all-around showing on offense. The unit bounced back from a rough outing against Alabama, with the offensive line creating running lanes and keeping the pocket clean for quarterback Kenny Minchey.

Minchey, making his first SEC road start, completed 14 of 18 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. His four misses included two drops, one throwaway and one pass broken up by the defense. His best throw was a 53-yard deep-post completion to DJ Miller.

Miller caught five passes for 96 yards, including the 53-yarder that set up Kentucky's first touchdown of the game. True freshman receiver Kenny Darby added two catches for 64 yards, scoring on a 42-yard touchdown where he shook free of a defender. Darby entered the game as Kentucky's leading receiver through three weeks.

The ground game was productive as well. CJ Baxter ran 19 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per carry, while Jason Patterson added 58 yards on six carries, an average of 9.7 yards per attempt.
