Virgil van Dijk's future at Liverpool has become a talking point as the defender approaches the final stretch of his current contract. The 35-year-old's deal runs until June 2027, having signed a two-year extension last season, and he has reportedly been linked with AC Milan.

Van Dijk has been a key figure in Liverpool's unbeaten start to the 2026-27 campaign under manager Andoni Iraola, forming a defensive partnership with Jeremy Jacquet alongside new arrival Ronald Araujo. Liverpool sit sixth in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Manchester City.

The center back is reportedly on wages of around £350,000 per week, with some of that financial room freed up following Mohamed Salah's departure. Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch have both signed new contracts with the club in recent weeks.

Van Dijk is among the Liverpool players whose contracts expire in June 2027, a group that also includes goalkeeper Alisson.
