Liverpool midfield plans hinge on Monaco's stance on Camara, pundit says

David Lynch says a January move for Monaco's Lamine Camara may depend on the French club's other business, while Alexis Mac Allister's contract remains unsettled.

Liverpool's midfield is the area most likely to see recruitment in the near future, according to journalist David Lynch, speaking on Anfield Index's Media Matters podcast. He pointed to Monaco's Lamine Camara as a player of interest and said the French club's circumstances could shape the timing of any deal.

Lynch suggested that Monaco would face less pressure to sell Camara if they complete other business involving Folarin Balogun. In that scenario, Liverpool might have to wait until the end of the season to act. However, he added that rival interest, combined with available funds, could push the club to move sooner rather than let an opportunity pass.

The discussion is complicated by Alexis Mac Allister's contract situation. Lynch praised the Argentina international's strong start to the season but said he did not sense urgency from Liverpool to extend his current deal.

Lynch said Liverpool will need to address the midfield either in January or the following summer. He noted that the returning Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley strengthen options in attack and defence, leaving midfield as the clearest longer-term priority.
