PFF's Top Five LSU Performers in 32-24 Loss to Ole Miss

Safety Jhase Thomas led LSU's Pro Football Focus grades after the Tigers fell to Ole Miss 32-24 in their SEC opener in Week 3.

LSU dropped its SEC opener 32-24 to Ole Miss on Saturday in a top-10 matchup that also marked Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford since taking the LSU job in 2025. Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss led three first-half touchdown drives, and LSU trailed at the break after a stagnant offensive showing.

The Tigers rallied after halftime, outscoring Ole Miss 14-0 in the third quarter and tying the game with a field goal early in the fourth. Ole Miss answered with a 75-yard, 13-play drive, and quarterback Sam Leavitt was intercepted on fourth-and-goal in the closing minutes to seal the loss.

Safety Jhase Thomas earned LSU's top PFF grade at 80.1. The redshirt freshman stepped in after DaShawn Spears left in the first half and recorded five tackles, four of them solo, in the eighth game of his college career.

Linebacker Whit Weeks graded at 75.2 after tying for the team lead with eight tackles to go with a tackle for loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry. True freshman defensive tackle Deuce Geralds posted a 74.5 in his first SEC game, finishing with a solo tackle and a quarterback hurry.

Linebacker Princewill Umanmielen, facing his former team, recorded four tackles and a sack of Chambliss for a 72.8 grade. Wide receiver Winston Watkins, another former Rebel, caught three passes for 54 yards and a touchdown to round out the top five at 71.8.
