Bayern's Luis Díaz Settles Into Munich Life, German Remains a Hurdle

The Colombian winger says he is very happy in Munich, though mastering the German language has proven far tougher than adjusting to the city or the club.

Luis Díaz says he has settled in happily at Bayern Munich, praising the welcome he has received at the club and the attractions of the city itself. Speaking in an interview with Kerry Hau of Sky Germany, the Colombian winger described the people around the club as kind and attentive.

Díaz said those he has met within the club want everything to be done properly for him, something he said he greatly appreciates. He added that the staff enjoy their work and think ahead, a mentality he compared to that of his native Colombia.

The one ongoing difficulty, he admitted with a laugh, is the language. He described German as difficult, incredibly difficult, and said adjusting to it is not easy.

It is not his first time tackling a new language. Díaz previously had to learn English after moving from FC Porto to Liverpool, an effort he continued to find challenging over the years.

Aside from the language barrier, Díaz said he has no complaints, calling Munich an incredible city with plenty to explore when time allows and saying he is very happy there.
