Four-star forward Dawson Battie commits to Nebraska

Dawson Battie, a four-star power forward in the 2027 class, announced his commitment to the Nebraska men's basketball program on Monday night.

Nebraska men's basketball received a commitment Monday night from Dawson Battie, a four-star power forward in the 2027 recruiting class. Battie announced his decision on social media.

According to the Rivals Industry Rankings, Battie is rated the No. 27 overall player in the 2027 class, the No. 3 power forward, and the No. 3 prospect from the state of Texas in his class. He is listed at six-foot-eight and 215 pounds.

Battie held interest from SMU, Stanford and Kentucky before choosing the Huskers. He made three visits to Lincoln, most recently on September 19.

On the court, Battie is described as a high-level scorer who also contributes on the boards and defends multiple positions. His passing and ability to create mismatches are seen as a fit for coach Fred Hoiberg's system.

Battie becomes the second known commitment for Nebraska in the 2027 class, joining small forward Ty Schlagel.
