Bills stay No. 1 as Seahawks, Bengals climb in Week 3 NFL power rankings

The Sporting News' latest NFL power rankings show Seattle and Cincinnati surging while Chicago and Baltimore fall after Week 2 losses and injuries.

The Buffalo Bills remain the No. 1 team in The Sporting News' NFL power rankings heading into Week 3, holding the top spot at 2-0 behind an offense that coordinator Joe Brady has pushed to greater production around quarterback Josh Allen.

The Seattle Seahawks jumped from fourth to second after improving to 2-0 even without quarterback Sam Darnold, with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba posting 155 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers (up from fifth), Philadelphia Eagles (up from sixth) and Kansas City Chiefs (up from seventh) rounded out the top five, all undefeated.

The Cincinnati Bengals made one of the biggest moves, climbing from 11th to sixth after a second straight win to open the season, with Joe Burrow leading victories over the Buccaneers and Texans. The Minnesota Vikings rose from 15th to eighth, with Carson Wentz managing games since taking over for Kyler Murray while the defense makes plays.

Two Week 1 favorites dropped sharply. The Chicago Bears fell from second to 12th after managing only three points in a home loss to Minnesota, a game in which quarterback Caleb Williams left with a hamstring injury. The Baltimore Ravens slid from third to 13th following a home defeat to New Orleans as Lamar Jackson and the defense adjust to new coordinators.

The Philadelphia Eagles survived a close call in Tennessee behind late plays from Jalen Hurts, who finished the game despite Saquon Barkley (neck) and Dallas Goedert (knee) exiting with mid-game injuries. The New Orleans Saints were among the biggest risers, moving from 25th to 15th with Tyler Shough running Kellen Moore's offense.
