Notre Dame Lists Safety Luke Talich Questionable for Purdue Game

The Irish released their weekly injury report and depth chart ahead of Saturday's road trip to face Purdue for the Shillelagh Trophy.

Notre Dame issued its injury report and depth chart Monday ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Purdue Boilermakers, a game that puts the Shillelagh Trophy on the line. The only fresh addition to the injury list is safety Luke Talich.

Talich, a Wyoming native, is questionable with a left wrist injury. The team expected to learn more about his availability for the Purdue game on Monday. He had already been in line for a significant role this season and became an important piece of the defense after Tae Johnson was injured against Wisconsin.

If Talich cannot play, Joey O'Brien is slated to step in at field safety. Notre Dame otherwise describes its overall health as roughly the same as it has been since the Wisconsin game.

Ten players remain out for the game: offensive linemen Matty Augustine (right foot), Charles Jagusah (left humerus) and Chris Terek (right knee); defensive backs Brauntae Johnson (left foot) and Chaz Smith (right wrist); defensive linemen Christopher Burgess Jr. (left tibia), Tiki Hola (right knee) and Jason Onye (left ankle); and wide receiver Quincy Porter (left knee).
