Oregon wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan will be sidelined for an extended stretch after breaking his foot during warmups before Friday night's 84-0 victory over Portland State. Coach Dan Lanning disclosed the injury Monday, calling it an unusual occurrence at his news conference.
McClellan did not take the field in the game and watched from the sideline with his left foot in a walking boot. He entered the season as Oregon's leading returning receiver after posting 38 catches for 557 yards and three touchdowns in 2025.
The junior had continued producing early in 2026, with seven receptions for 170 yards and a touchdown through the first two games. Most of that output came in the season-opening win over Boise State, when he caught six passes for 150 yards and a score.
The loss adds to a run of injuries for Oregon's receiving group. Evan Stewart sat out all of last season with a knee injury, while Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr. each missed multiple games.
On a brighter note, Lanning said tight end Jamari Johnson should return for the Week 4 matchup at USC. Johnson has missed the last two games, including the loss to Oklahoma State, and caught a touchdown against Boise State.
