Mustang High School freshman Piper Hesse, a 5-foot-4 cross country runner, was featured in a Q&A series highlighting Oklahoma City-area high school athletes. The Oklahoman collected the responses at its annual media day, asking athletes about topics ranging from hidden talents to school spirit.
Hesse said her hidden talent is playing ECNL soccer, competing in the Elite Club National League. Before races, she listens to "All of the Lights" by Kanye West.
Away from athletics, Hesse said her dream career is to become an oncologist. She also believes she would be good at tennis, a sport she does not currently play.
