McVay: Myles Garrett Could Miss Four to Eight Weeks After Knee Surgery

The Rams pass rusher is on injured reserve after arthroscopic knee surgery, with head coach Sean McVay pointing to a return no earlier than late October.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated during Monday night's game against the New York Giants that defensive end Myles Garrett could be sidelined anywhere from four to eight weeks as he recovers from knee surgery.

ESPN's Lisa Salters relayed the update during the broadcast, noting that Garrett was at the team's facility this week and walking without crutches. She added that the Rams believe Garrett is progressing well but will not rush his recovery, leaving no firm date for his return.

Garrett is on injured reserve following arthroscopic knee surgery, which requires him to miss at least four games. That rules him out until at least Week 6, when the Rams host the Arizona Cardinals in an NFC West matchup. The longer end of the projection would keep him out until at least Week 10, when Los Angeles visits the Cardinals in Arizona.

The Rams are also dealing with an injury to wide receiver Puka Nacua, who missed Week 2 with a hip issue. According to Salters, McVay does not believe the injury is serious and expects Nacua back sooner rather than later.

Los Angeles won that Week 2 contest 28-6 behind Davante Adams, who caught eight passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Matthew Stafford threw for 327 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.
