Rams Top Giants 28-6 as Adams Points to Execution Over Talent

Davante Adams caught two touchdown passes in a 28-6 Rams win over the New York Giants and said the team's focus is on playing well rather than outside expectations.

The Los Angeles Rams evened their 2026 record at 1-1 on Monday night with a 28-6 victory over the New York Giants. Sean McVay's defense contained New York while Matthew Stafford led an offense that settled into a groove, and Los Angeles steered clear of the swings in momentum that hurt it the week before.

Playing without Puka Nacua, who is dealing with a hip injury, wide receiver Davante Adams hauled in a pair of touchdown catches. The performance came after the Rams dropped their season opener in Melbourne.

After the game, Adams spoke with Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter and described the approach the team is taking. "This league isn't even about who's the best team, it's about who goes out and plays the best," Adams said. "So we keep that on our minds and go out and work towards a common goal."

A veteran of one of the most accomplished receiving careers in the NFL, Adams entered the league when Green Bay drafted him in 2014. He earned five consecutive Pro Bowl nods and back-to-back first-team All-Pro selections with the Packers, then added another first-team All-Pro season after moving to the Raiders in 2022. Following a stint with the Jets, he joined the Rams in 2026 with more than 1,000 career receptions, 12,000 receiving yards, and 110 touchdowns.
