Rams rookie TE Terrance Ferguson scores first NFL touchdown in win over Giants

The second-round pick from Oregon caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford in the fourth quarter of Los Angeles' 28-6 victory at SoFi Stadium.

Los Angeles Rams rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson scored the first touchdown of his NFL career on Monday night, helping the Rams to a 28-6 win over the New York Giants at SoFi Stadium. The score came on a five-yard pass from Matthew Stafford with roughly nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Stafford had already connected with Davante Adams and Kyren Williams for three touchdowns before Ferguson got his chance. The 23-year-old, a second-round selection out of Oregon, was targeted only once in the Rams' Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia.

Speaking afterward, Ferguson called the moment special. "It's my first time to score here at SoFi, so it's pretty cool to have the fans with me, being it a home game and being able to score a touchdown," he said.

Ferguson also acknowledged two dropped passes in the game and said he appreciated that coach Sean McVay kept trusting him, adding that the touchdown was a major confidence boost. He said the team reviewed the loss to the 49ers closely and wanted to show what it was capable of in response.

The Rams are scheduled to face the Denver Broncos in Week 3.
