Aaron Donald Back From Retirement, Rams Roll Past Giants 28-6

Aaron Donald played his first NFL game in three years on Sunday, helping the Los Angeles Rams beat the New York Giants 28-6 in Week 2 at SoFi Stadium. The defensive end had skipped the Rams' season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, choosing to make his comeback in front of the home crowd.

After the game, Donald said his children played a big part in his decision to come back. He said they called him roughly 20 times that morning and told him they were ready to watch him play, adding that having his family in the stands made the moment more meaningful.

On the field, Donald finished with three tackles, including one solo stop that dropped Giants receiver Najee Harris for a three-yard loss on third down near the goal line. He added a tackle for loss but did not record a sack, and Next Gen Stats credited him with one quarterback pressure on 18 pass-rush snaps while drawing seven double-teams.

The Rams limited Donald to 32 snaps, resting him for much of the second half with the win in hand. With Myles Garrett sidelined by injury, Donald is expected to carry a heavier load as the season goes on, though the pairing may not be seen until Garrett recovers.
