Red Bull confirmed that Isack Hadjar will race at this week's Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, marking his return after a three-race absence. The 21-year-old French driver had been sidelined since injuring his wrist while boxing.
Hadjar's seat was filled by New Zealand's Liam Lawson at the races in the Netherlands, Monza and Madrid. Red Bull said in a statement that Hadjar has made a full recovery and will line up in Baku, with the event running from September 24-26.
Red Bull praised Lawson, 24, for his professionalism while stepping in under difficult circumstances. He finished seventh at Zandvoort, sixth in Madrid, and 14th at Monza, failing to score there.
Lawson now returns to Red Bull's junior squad, Racing Bulls. Hadjar, who drives alongside four-time world champion Max Verstappen, sits eighth in the drivers' standings with 71 points this season.
