Georgia and Clemson reportedly cancel four future football games

The Bulldogs and Tigers have agreed to scrap their home-and-home series scheduled across 2029-2033, according to a report.

Georgia and Clemson have agreed to cancel a four-game football series that was scheduled for 2029, 2030, 2032 and 2033, according to a report from the Athens Banner-Herald. The agreement to scrap the series was reportedly reached in March.

The matchup had been set up as a home-and-home arrangement, with Clemson hosting in 2029 and 2033 and Georgia hosting in 2030 and 2032. The report indicates the schools could still schedule one or two neutral site games against each other instead.

The cancellation comes as both programs adjust scheduling to nine-game conference slates. Georgia's nine-game SEC schedule is cited as a key reason its future nonconference plans may feature few Power Four opponents beyond Georgia Tech.

Georgia made a similar move with Florida State, canceling that home-and-home series while reportedly agreeing to a neutral site game in Nashville in 2028. Following the Clemson cancellation, Georgia's known 2029 nonconference opponents are Akron and Georgia Tech, leaving one open nonconference week.
