Five Mets Prospects Who Could Reach the Majors in 2027

After a trade-deadline overhaul restocked New York's farm system, five names stand out as candidates to help the Mets as soon as next season.

The minor league regular season wrapped up Sunday without playoff berths for either of the Mets' top two affiliates, though both showed life down the stretch. Syracuse fell just short in the International League East, finishing a game and a half behind Rochester in the second-half race. Binghamton, after a first half 15 games below .500 in the Eastern League, went an even 34-34 after the break.

New York's system got younger and deeper at the Aug. 3 trade deadline, when the club dealt eight major leaguers. That haul leaves the front office with flexible young talent to either plug big league holes or trade for established players ahead of 2027. Five prospects in particular look positioned for a possible call-up.

Infielder Jefferson Rojas, 21, came over in the trade that shipped Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor to the Cubs and was the centerpiece of New York's deadline returns. He hit .280/.336/.593 with nine homers, 29 RBI and 24 runs across 29 games at Binghamton, then earned a promotion to Syracuse, where he notched eight hits, three of them home runs, in six games.

On the mound, lefty Jonathan Santucci was named the Mets' Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 3-7 with a 3.57 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP and 120 strikeouts at Binghamton. His eight Syracuse starts were rougher, with 20 earned runs allowed over 34 1/3 innings. Right-hander Jack Wenninger, 24, still rates as the organization's top right-handed pitching prospect thanks to a mid-90s fastball and splitter, but 68 walks in 115 innings led to a 4.54 ERA in his first full Triple-A year.

Second baseman Émilien Pitre, acquired from the Rays in the Freddy Peralta deal, hit .375 (15-for-40) at Binghamton before his promotion, then slashed .260/.357/.370 with a homer and nine runs in 20 games at Syracuse. First baseman Ryan Clifford clubbed 18 home runs and 17 doubles with 56 RBI at Syracuse, but 174 strikeouts in 115 games raise questions, and he could be exposed to December's Rule 5 Draft if he is not added to the 40-man roster.
