No. 13 Tennessee Hosts No. 1 Texas on Sept. 26 at Neyland Stadium

The unbeaten Volunteers face the top-ranked Longhorns in a noon ET kickoff on ABC, with the Texas defense drawing as much attention as quarterback Arch Manning.

No. 13 Tennessee (3-0) welcomes No. 1 Texas (3-0) to Neyland Stadium on Sept. 26, with kickoff set for noon ET on ABC. While quarterback Arch Manning has drawn much of the attention, the Longhorns' defense has been the unit dominating opponents this season.

Texas is allowing just 12 points per game and has given up only three touchdowns under coordinator Will Muschamp. The Longhorns held Ohio State to 3 yards per rush and limited UTSA to nine first downs, with only four pass plays of longer than 20 yards surrendered all year.

Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said the defensive talent gives Texas flexibility in pressure and coverage looks. Right tackle Jesse Perry said blocking the Longhorns will require the Vols' best effort, noting edge rusher Colin Simmons anchors a deep and powerful front.

Freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon will be making his first SEC start against that defense. Receiver Braylon Staley said Brandon came to Tennessee to play the best teams in the country.

Muschamp has a long history of success against Heupel-led offenses, dating back to their time at Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri, and earlier Red River rivalry meetings between Texas and Oklahoma.
