The Vandals have dropped seven straight since their last victory on Oct. 31, 2025, and Saturday's home crowd was the smallest in five years.
The Idaho Vandals have not won a football game in 326 days. Their last victory came on Oct. 31, 2025, an overtime win over Northern Arizona, and the team has gone 0-7 since, with four of those defeats decided by six points or fewer.
Attendance has fallen alongside the results. Idaho's Sept. 19, 2026 home game against Abilene Christian drew 6,246 fans to the P1FCU Kibbie Dome, the smallest crowd there since 2021, when Paul Petrino was still head coach. The venue lists a capacity of 15,250.
The program has turned over all three coordinator positions and numerous position coaches during the slide, and is now in the second season under head coach Thomas Ford Jr.
Crowds were notably larger in the recent past. Under former head coach Jason Eck, average attendance rose from 8,892 in his first season to 10,862 in his second and 10,808 in his third, with playoff runs making the Dome one of the better atmospheres in the Football Championship Subdivision.
