UFC Champion Sean Strickland Injured in Rollover Vehicle Accident

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland says he may have suffered a concussion after the vehicle he was riding in rolled roughly six times.

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland said he was injured in a vehicle accident that occurred while he was spending time with friends, including fellow fighter Anthony Hernandez. He shared the details in posts on his Instagram account.

Strickland said he was a passenger and that a friend, Chris Cornell, was driving at around 60 mph when the vehicle rolled approximately six times. He was not wearing a helmet, and his head struck the ground during the crash.

The champion showed a gash on the side of his head and said his shoulder was sore, adding that he believed a concussion was setting in. Strickland later posted a photo of Cornell in the hospital, where the driver appeared to have broken his collarbone.

Strickland, who last fought and defeated Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328, told followers that despite the incident he was largely okay and had found the outing enjoyable.
