Brownsburg holds No. 1 in USA TODAY Sports Midwest rankings for Week 6

The Indiana power kept the top spot after a 49-10 win over Fishers and takes a 24-game winning streak into Friday's clash with Westfield.

Brownsburg (IN) held on to the No. 1 position in the USA TODAY Sports Super 15 Midwest Region rankings for Week 6, bringing an end to a stretch in which the top spot changed hands four times over the first six weeks of the 2026 high school football season. The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 with a 49-10 victory over Fishers (IN), running back Brady Lewis accounting for 89 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Brownsburg's grip on the top spot faces an immediate test Friday, Sept. 25, when the Bulldogs host fellow Indiana power Westfield at 7 p.m. ET carrying a 24-game winning streak that dates to the 2024 season.

Massillon (Washington, OH) stayed at No. 2 after surviving a late St. Edward comeback to win 23-21, with sophomore running back Gary Yeager rushing for 226 yards and two scores. No. 3 Trinity (Louisville, KY) bounced back from a loss to Chattanooga (TN) with a 34-0, rain-shortened win over Male (KY), and No. 4 East St. Louis (IL) rolled past Belleville East 61-0 in its first game since the IHSA allowed the program to play up in Class 7A this season.

No. 7 Elder (Cincinnati, OH) made the biggest jump of the week, rising six places after a 31-0 shutout of St. Xavier (KY). The rankings are rounded out by Big Walnut (OH), Bishop Watterson (OH), Mt. Carmel (IL), Detroit Catholic Central (MI), Cass Tech (MI), St. Edward (OH), Millard South (NE), Anderson (OH), Warren Central (IN) and Princeton (OH).
