USC Women Break Single-Round Record to Open Golfweek Red Sky Classic

The Trojans shot 22-under 266 in Monday's first round at Red Sky Golf Club, eclipsing their own mark from a year ago.

Southern California opened the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Monday with a record-setting round at Red Sky Golf Club's Fazio Course in Wolcott, Colorado. The Trojans carded a 22-under 266, breaking the single-round tournament mark they had established in the final round of their victory last year by a single stroke.

USC carries an 11-shot advantage over Miami into Tuesday's second round.

Junior Jasmine Koo, the co-medalist at this event last year, posted a 7-under 65. Freshman Kaili Xiao matched that 65 in her first collegiate round, closing with a 30 on the back nine. Kylie Chong, who shared medalist honors with Koo in 2025, came in at 6-under 66.

Xiao's score is believed to be the best debut round by a USC freshman and is also the lowest round in program history, improving on the mark set last year. Sophomore Sarah Hammett added a bogey-free 70 as the final counting score.
