McVay praises Stafford, hands out game balls after Rams rout Giants

Los Angeles opened its home schedule with a 28-6 win over New York at SoFi Stadium, with Sean McVay recognizing three players afterward.

The Los Angeles Rams earned their first win of the home season Monday night, beating the New York Giants 28-6 at SoFi Stadium. The team described the performance as a complementary effort from both sides of the ball.

Following the game, head coach Sean McVay addressed the locker room and recognized three players with game balls: quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive back Trent McDuffie. The club shared video of McVay's remarks on social media, as it does after each victory.

McVay highlighted Stafford's strong night, which moved him up the NFL's all-time leaderboards. Adams delivered the standout stat line of the game with eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns, outscoring the Giants by himself and posting more receiving yards than New York managed as a team.

McDuffie's honor came after he recorded his first interception since joining the Rams. The game also marked Aaron Donald's return to the field following a two-year retirement.

Los Angeles travels to face the Denver Broncos in Week 3.
